DECISION MAKING IN NIGERIA: A LOOK AT FUNDAMENTAL ISSUES

By decision making, I mean decision at the governmental levels and not private or company decisions. The questions I want to throw light on are- who makes the decisions? What amount of technical information do they have? To what extent is there a response to the information? What do decision makers make decisions about- symptoms or causes of the problems? What is the degree of public participation in the decision making process? What is the point of people who make these decisions? The discussion involves a fair number of examples from different parts of the country, at different points in time, and ends with a cautionary note for the future.
